Each student will plan and film his/her own
15-minute News Program. Reminder: this project requires you to bring your
MiniDV tape to class on production days as noted on “work for the week”
schedule. |
A written plan, including production worksheet
time-line, will accompany final production. (Content must be approved
prior to production.)
All filming will be completed in class on designated production days
beginning on the project’s due date.
Program must include (minimum): |
- a minimum of three feature stories,
- the highlights of one interview,
- the statistical findings of 1 poll/survey,
- one “breaking news” story.
Completed program should not exceed 15 minutes
in length.
Programs will be viewed and critiqued by the class as they are filmed. |
Grade will be based on four components: |
- Planning/research phase, including a detailed breakdown of your
program’s time management plan, hard copy of your interview notes/
questions and responses, and the submission of content for approval: 25%
- Planning and conducting poll by surveying 1 person in class and 9
people who are not in our class and compiling statistical results based on
your findings. Hard copy of notes/questions and responses must accompany
your final project. 25%
- Run through/ tech rehearsal phase, scheduled the week prior to the due
date. For full credit your program must be complete, and you must run
through it in its entirety, during the class time devoted to this “set-up”
phase. 25%
- Final presentation of complete program including all required
elements, all accompanying materials, and being prepared with your MiniDV
tape, as scheduled beginning on the due date, May 29th 25%
As with all projects, - each school day
you are not prepared results in a loss of 10% beginning May 29th,
2007. |
